Начиная со сборки 10 (Build 1229), новая Оpera включает новую возможность, позволяющую пользователям кликнувших на ссылке mailto перейти на составление письма в различных почтовых веб службах, например: Gmail, Yahoo! Mail и Windows Live Hotmail. Это весьма удобно для людей, использующих веб почту вместо установленного почтового клиента.
При чистой установке клик по ссылке mailto откроет диалоговое окно, где можно выбрать между Opera Mail (M2), системный клиент, и несколько веб служб. Когда вы выбираете почтового провайдера и отмечаете галкой «Do not show this dialog again» все такие ссылки будут открываться в нём. Изменить настройки можно в «Preferences > Advanced > Programs»
В текущей реализации поддерживается подстановка ссылок только целиком с «mailto:», а многие почтовые провайдеры понимают только раздельные параметры. Как это исправить и поставить необходимый вам сервис написано у Тима Алтмана.
Как отмечает Анне ван Кестерен (представитель Opera Software в рабочих группах W3 HTML 5 и CSS 3, если я не ошибаюсь) браузеры должны поддерживать протоколы и содержание по стороннему выбору так, что бы сайты могли попасть в список не заставляя пользователя редактировать какие-либо настройки.
В самой свежей альфа версии убрали сервис Gmail, но это не повод для расстройств. В обычной, версии (финал на данный момент - 9.63) вообще подобной фичи нет. НО! Народные энтузиасты и умельцы откопали удобный способ обойти подобную несправедливость.
В меню Инструменты > Настройки > Дополнительно > Программы выбираем протокол «mailto», жмем «изменить», далее выбераем «Открыть в другой программе» и указываем путь к опере. Самое интересное пишется в строке «Параметр»
